Trail Views

Trail View 1

I like photos of trails … and I seem to be particularly fond of those where the trail curves around out of sight. This adds a bit of mystery to the image. These two were taken on Tri-X … a classic black and white film with good exposure latitude. The camera was my Nikon FM3A … one of the last film cameras that Nikon made.

  1. OK. it looks like “winter is coming” to your neck of the woods!

Your closeup still life photos at Ft. Warden were interesting finds especially theaucet for the rusty colors and contrasting B&W background. I was wondering if your closeups could be a good application for your multilayered photography method you have demonstrated with floral arrangements. It would make your still life photos more novel and really stand out! The Colors will really sing to you that way.

    1. I have taken some ‘close ups’ that are focus stacked, Tom. Sorta medium close. For real close or macro shots, you need a tripod … and I’m usually too lazy to have carried mine.
I’ve done some landscapes that are focus stacked, but they work better with tripod, too.
