Haller Fountain and the Ferry Terminal

Haller Fountain in Port Townsend

Both of these were taken on Kodak Tri-X film, but with different cameras. The top one with a Leica M-3 and the bottom with a Holga plastic camera. The Leica is an older camera, but very well made and with an exquite lens. The Holga is a ‘modern’ camera … but cheap, made of plastic with a plastic lens. There are noticeable image quality differences, but both are interesting images. The “lesson” is that it isn’t the camera that makes an interesting photo.

  1. I borrowed some fancy cameras for a day and came to this exact conclusion. A good photograph is a lot more about light and composition than camera.
