The abandoned gun emplacements at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, WA are a great location for finding interesting artifacts. I really liked the moss that was growing around this one retaining ring (not the correct military term, I’m sure). It was interesting partly because of a whole wall full of these rings, this was the only one with a patch of moss around it. Must be some difference in the makeup of the cement in that location.

Very Zen. Each element within the photograph stands alone, clearly and different.
Thanks a lot, Pat. I try to simplify. If it turns out zen-like, all the better.
