Buy the old truck and restore it! Frame the pictures of the old and restored truck. Maybe Gary would do the work and use the restored truck tom pull his restored trailer. More pictures the to take.
Nice idea, Tom. I think it works better as conceptual art, though.
#1 – it’s property of the Park Service now. So it would have to go for bid.
#2 – if I got the bid, there’s the 140 mile tow to PT
#3 – i would have to rent a place to put it – work on it (covered, of course)
#4 – i’m not good at restoring old trucks. I had a 1937 Chevy pickup … it didn’t get worked on, unless I paid someone to work on it for me. (that wasn’t the plan when I bought it)
#5 – Gary wouldn’t do the work … it’s not wood and it’s not a trailer. And he’s got too many projects already.
… the matting and framing of the images?
Yeah, I could handle that!
Two great photos, Allan.
Thanks, Egidio, I appreciate it
A circa 1941-46 Chevrolet panel truck once used in a local- and long-distance moving business. Beautiful!!!
It has done its share of hard miles, I think.
Allan, I love the first photo. The truck looks like it has a big smile with dimples… and the “eyes” are all lit up in their rectangular shapes a.k.a. windshield. I don’t know why I am anthropomorphizing this truck, but I think it’s really cute.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Thanks, Lynne
