I really love the Pacific Madrone. Especially if it’s not in my yard. They are a messy tree, dropping leaves or shedding bark pretty much year round. It’s not too bad dealing with trees dropping leaves once in the fall. Year round just gets tiresome.

Yes, very pretty but with all that bark falling, to be admired in the forest, I think.
Yes, but I have some in the green belt alongside my house and can’t remove them.
So, I just resign myself to perpetual cleanup.
That’s a special bark, maybe decorative but i can imagine the downside.
