I was coming out of an appointment recently and noticed the clouds overhead were mammatus. I have seen mammatus before, but from a distance, not from directly beneath. Good thing I had my cell phone with me.

  1. Usually mammatus clouds means a chance of hail, heavy rain and lightning, which isn’t normal for the Northwest. But there are cool!

    1. There was ‘unsettled’ weather, but it was on either side of Port Townsend.
      We’re in the rain shadow of the Olympics, so we can end up in a doughnut hole of nice weather while those around us are cloudy or getting rain. I try not to gloat, but it’s sweet.
