
This is a view from Hurricane Hill looking southwest into the central Olympics. The valley on the far left is the Elwha River … the one in the middle is Long Creek (with Long Ridge being between the two … a nice hike up to Dodger Point). The mountains on the right half of the skyline are called the Bailey Range … after the publisher of the Seattle Press newspaper in the 1890’s. Mt Olympus is mostly hidden behind the higher peaks.
The image below shows the ridgeline on the right side of the upper image: the central Bailey Range. You can see Mt. Olympus in the distance, just above the ridgeline on the left. This image is a cropped composite of 5 images.
