One of my favorite spots to spend time with my camera is the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island. Bloedel was an early timber baron. It is now open to the public (on a fee basis) and has a very extensive garden, including a Japanese Tea House, and the family mansion.

While I have found it an excellent photo destination year-round, it is especially nice in the spring when more of the wild flowers (cultivated) are in bloom.

There are miles (?) of trails through the (mostly) manicured woods. A much different experience than hiking in the Olympic National Park… but very enjoyable.

This photo shows the mansion with one of the ponds.

An earlier post shows one of the barns.
