In June 2016, I was walking around Capitol Lake in the early evening. It looked like the light rain was going to continue. The parking lot was pretty empty. I decided to carry my Nikon AW1, a waterproof-shockproof camera that I use when I go kayaking or backpacking.
I was about half way around the lake when a squall came up and it just poured. Not your typical Northwest rain… a real downpour.
A woman was walking her small dog in the distance and I was amazed that she didn’t pick up the dog and carry it under her umbrella. And while I was real glad I had the waterproof camera, I got seriously soaked.
