There were a lot of these skimmers flying around Capitol Lake (10 August 2018) and I was glad to find this one resting … I love the eyes on this little guy.
Note that I used a 135mm lens on this and then cropped heavily. I really wasn’t as close as this image makes it look I might have been. I don’t think there would have been any way the skimmer would have stayed put if I got so close.
