
In mid-October 2017, I day-hiked up the North Fork Skokomish to enjoy the fall colors and take a few photos. I have hiked that part of the trail dozens of times since they closed the road … and I drove it a number of times while the road was still open. It’s one of my favorite trails … not only because it is relatively close to home.
It was a beautiful day with a little bit of breeze. I used a relatively fast shutter speed to keep the leaves from blurring. Right after I took this photo, I turned around and watched some elk wading crossing the river. I didn’t have a telephone lens with me, but the shot I got is below.
