Great Horned Owls are fairly common in the Pacific Northwest … although they can be hard to spot with their typically nocturnal ways. And they like to hide out, as below. (I was just lucky to spot that one, but it had been a nest before.)

    1. Yes, sometimes it’s when you spot a group of people with binoculars that gives their position away.

  1. Sometimes on my evening walks, I would spot an Owl in a tree. Once on the bridge, cross a small creek in Virginia. My wife held one in Scotland last summer. I think birds are amazing. I am just glad the hummingbirds came to my backyard this summer.
