This variety of lupine tends to grow along shorelines … it doesn’t seem to be bothered by a salty environment. I thought it was a nice flower until a friend with a background in botany pointed out it is an invasive species.

We are so used to Bluebonnets in Texas. Seeing yellow lupines looks very different.
We only have the yellow along shorelines … and it’s not really common. So, it surprises a lot of people here, too.
What a bummer it’s an invasive species, for it sure is pretty.
I have heard different stories on whether it’s invasive. Whichever is true it’s not very aggressive and doesn’t seem to do well away from the shoreline. So, not vicious.
