Summer Flowers

Canadian Dogwood

I was just enjoying the first crocus to come up in our yard (before the deer eat them) and was missing the summer hiking season with all its amazing flowers. These two are among the most common companions for hikers: Canadian Dogwood and Buttercups. I can’t wait for the high country to melt out and have a chance to go visit my flowery friends.

  1. I presume Canadian Dogwood is different to the kind we sometimes see here, but more often in the north of Portugal. It’s a low growing shrub or tree and covered in flowers.

    1. Yes, this variety is low growing. A good ground cover. Not aggressive and only grows about ankle high.
