This totem pole sits in downtown Port Townsend outside the building complex that hosts the Northwest Maritime Center and the Wooden Boat Foundation. When the local native peoples have their canoe paddle down Puget Sound, this is one of their stops.
I took this a while ago and as I was reviewing my photos, was struck by the clouds in this image. You can see the change in the sky, reflected in the water. The dock in the mid-distance is the Coupeville-Port Townsend ferry dock.
I thought this parade of people was humorous … everyone going in the same direction. For a while I had walked on that side, but it was like fighting upstream. This is Port Townsend waterfront and everyone was headed down to the Wooden Boat Festival or some other event.
The jet contrail added some interest to the sky, in addition to the sunset. There is also a little bit of a solar bar coming up from the sun … at least it looks like one to me. This is the waterfront at Port Townsend, WA.
