This is the view after departing Bainbridge Island on the way across Puget Sound to Seattle. In the distance are the Olympic Mountains. I was on my way to the region’s biggest camera store. It’s always a good day when you get to go to a camera store, but not always this nice of weather.
I was walking around downtown Port Townsend (WA) when I saw these two trying to catch crabs from the dock. There was a lot of waiting involved … maybe after I left they were successful. As it was, I watched the crab moving around the netting, but not seem very interested.
This was taken with my Leica Q2 Monochrom … which takes photos only in black and white. This means that there is no Red-Green-Blue filter set in front of the sensor. I really like the images you get …
This was the summer air full of forest fire smoke a few years back … which is what provided the intense color of the sun. What I just noticed was a small spot on the sun that I wonder now if it was a sunspot. No way to tell now … it could also be a water spot on the sensor, for instance.
This is another photo that I ran across in my archive that I thought was of interest. I don’t remember the specific weather that was before or after this sunset. To me, it looks like it unstable air when there is a transition to or from stormy weather. Pleasant clouds, even if the weather wasn’t.
These are the last of my “lost iPhone photos”. The top one is looking from a viewpoint overlooking the Eastern Sierra Nevada and the valley around Big Pine, CA. The one below is one of the ancient Bristlecone Pines that grow even higher than this viewpoint image. Bristlecone’s (in this area) grow around the 10,000 ft line and above.
