The warm color is from the setting sun. The building in the foreground is a private residence, the clock tower in the background is the Jefferson County Courthouse.
This is the beach at Fort Worden… with the Point Wilson lighthouse. The area is relatively sheltered from most of the worst weather that comes in to Western Washington, but it still gets the occasional windy day here and there.
There are always folks camping down at the beach there. Including on this day when there was one brave camper trying to get a tent up in the wind.

This is the lighthouse at Point Wilson at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend. This is an example of where the conversion to Black and White adds a lot of dramatic effect to the image. See the color image below. It’s an okay image, but the black and white conversion adds a lot of punch to the sky.

This was a day after the color image of a couple posts ago (here). The weather has been just spectacular. And the air was clear enough for a great view of Mt Baker across Puget Sound. I really like the black and white version of this … especially since the pickup truck in the front lot was bright red and really was an eye magnet. Black and White made it disappear into the background.

Point Wilson is on Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, Washington. I was walking the beach and liked the snowy North Central Cascades behind the lighthouse. After our snowy weather, it was a nice change to be able to walk the beach in the sun.
