This is one of the back alleys of Port Townsend, WA. I really hope that folks using that door are careful with that first step.

One of the abandoned buildings in Fort Worden State Park, Port Townsend. This building in on top the hill away from the majority of buildings … including the ones that are now referred to as the Creative Commons. These include the classrooms for Northwind School of the Arts, where I occasionally teach classes in Adobe Lightroom.

I was still trying out the Nikon F6 (with Portra 400 film) … when I buy a used film camera, I try to get a roll or two of images shot fairly quickly, so I can determine if the camera is working well. This image shows the high contrast that results in the shadow areas going completely black. Digital images give you a lot more ability to recover some of the details in those areas …
What I like about this image is there was a seagull flying over that got ‘caught’ in the sunburst caused by the lens diaphragm. I didn’t even notice the gull at the time.

These two trees attracted my attention. They both were out front of an old building on Fort Worden State Park. I was testing out a “new” camera … a Nikon F6 … Nikon’s last film SLR … suing Tri-X. A wonderful camera that has very similar controls to the Nikon D850 that I use for a lot of my digital work, which makes it easy to use.
