Someone spent a lot of time building these cairns on the beach in downtown Port Townsend. I’ve done a little of this, but nothing this extensive or elaborate. Pretty impressive.

Beach and Sunset
The jet contrail added some interest to the sky, in addition to the sunset. There is also a little bit of a solar bar coming up from the sun … at least it looks like one to me. This is the waterfront at Port Townsend, WA.
Double Rainbow
I was lucky that the rainbow stuck around until I could get to the beach. The clouds were great and a ship was encircled by the ‘bow. I’m not sure what caused the sunshine patterning to the right side of the ‘bow, but I liked that it showed up in the final image. This was a series of images that I assembled in Lightroom.
Lonely Row Boat
I think this little boat was tied up. Couldn’t really tell, since there wasn’t much wind or current. It looked lonely, though.
Drowned Fence
Some additional shots of the marshy area near the lighthouse at Marrowstone Point at Fort Flagler State Park southeast of Port Townsend. I don’t know how long it has been since the fencing has actually performed a ‘fence function’, but it seems to have been a considerable time. The water in the background is Puget Sound, the land across the way is Whidbey Island.
