The black area of the tree seems to be hovering over this woman sitting on the waterfront/beach bench in downtown Port Townsend. It imparts an ominous feel to the image. (shot on Tri-X film)

Beach Walk and Sea Birds
I sorta wish I knew who these two were, but I was shooting with a long lens and had no way to contact them. I’m sure they would have used this for their Christmas card, or something.
Beach Walk
A beach walk on a winter day on the beach at Kalaloch can be wet and windy, or you can get lucky and have a sunny day and mild weather. But there’s always stuff to see.
Dungeness Spit
Dungeness Spit State Park is located just north of Sequim on the north coast of the Olympic Peninsula. The lighthouse at the end of the spit is an 8 mile walk (one way) … and the signage warns to make sure you are aware of the time and tides. At high tide you may be forced to work your way through a maze of driftwood, slowing your progress dramatically. If the weather is clear, the views can be spectacular … including looking towards Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.
Crabbing from the Dock
I was walking around downtown Port Townsend (WA) when I saw these two trying to catch crabs from the dock. There was a lot of waiting involved … maybe after I left they were successful. As it was, I watched the crab moving around the netting, but not seem very interested.
This was taken with my Leica Q2 Monochrom … which takes photos only in black and white. This means that there is no Red-Green-Blue filter set in front of the sensor. I really like the images you get …
