Lake Quinault

Lake Quinault

I took this image a few years back and was recently going through my image bank and found that redeveloping the images with the latest Lightroom tools made a significant difference in the results. I think that part of the difference is a change in my aesthetic, since that can also change over time.

If you haven’t re-processed your prints in a while, it may be worth going back and visiting some of your favorites to see what you think.

Sights Around Port Townsend

Jefferson County Courthouse

Port Townsend was one of the earliest towns established in Washington State. While not a large town even now, it has a lot of interesting architecture that makes photography a pleasant diversion.

Mt Baker

Mt Baker from the Port Townsend – Coupeville Ferry (near the Coupeville Dock)

The ferry ride to Coupeville from Port Townsend is a pleasant 35 minute trip. When the weather is clear, it is also very scenic. I like to pay the $1.80 walk-on ferry fare and ride across, walk off the ferry, pay the fare and take the return boat. There isn’t much around the Coupeville ferry dock except a boat launch and a nice park. While the park is a nice visit, it isn’t a necessity. I always hope to catch sight of some Orca on the trip across, but this day I only saw a couple of harbor seals … and that was a brief glimpse at a distance (no photo).

Birds at the Feeder

Junco and Downy Woodpecker

I am lucky to have a nice office to work on my photography that has a window that looks out onto the yard and right at the bird feeders. When I get some likely suspects, I grab my camera and a big lens and see what I get.
