A Gloomy Cell

A Gloomy Cell

This is the historic jail in the basement of the Port Townsend Historical Museum. The Port Townsend area was one of the wild sea towns of the late 19th century. The jail was frequently booked full of (non-paying) guests. One of the stories was of the author Jack London spending a night here on his trip to the gold fields of the Yukon and Alaska. Not sure if it was this cell.
