Calypso Orchids are one of my favorite wild flowers. They are found scattered around the mountains and foothills of Washington State. I like the way they are one of the first signs of spring… hope is in the air!
These were at Bloedel Reserve and are carefully tended. The first I had ever seen that weren’t in the wild. I had to use a fast shuttle speed in order to freeze their motion in the slight breeze.
